These terms cover how Scenic (the operator, a Hong Kong limited company) pays guides. They sit alongside the main terms of service and are subject to the same right to update with notice.
When a guest you invited keeps Scenic after their two-month Premium trial, you earn 20% of what that guest pays Scenic in their first 12 months. It's a share of ongoing revenue, not a one-off finder's fee. You do not earn a share of amounts refunded, charged back, or written off.
The share accrues from day one for every guide. Payouts unlock after a free 30 minute coaching call. The call is not a sales pitch and there's nothing to buy; its purpose is to help you brief guests so more of them keep Scenic. Nothing is lost by leaving the call until later. Accrued balance sits waiting until you take it.
Riders book with you on your own platform, at your own price, on your terms. Scenic is not the merchant of record for tours listed in the Tour Finder. Bookings are a contract between you and the rider.
Attribution is by the Scenic referral link and the Scenic discount code the rider redeems at your checkout. Scenic invoices you monthly for 10% commission on the value of bookings attributed that way. You keep 90%.
You handle checkout, refunds and cancellations under your own terms. Commission is credited back on bookings you refund in full; on partial refunds, commission is adjusted pro-rata against the amount you retained.
Tour Finder listings require identity and business verification. Verification confirms that you and your business exist. It is not an endorsement of tour safety or quality, and Scenic makes no representation as to either.
We pay out the referral share when your balance reaches $250, or quarterly, whichever comes first. Balances below $250 at the end of a quarter still get paid; they don't reset or expire. Payments are in US dollars to a bank account or supported payment method you nominate.
Amounts we pay you are gross of any income tax, self-employment tax, or VAT/GST due in your jurisdiction. You're responsible for declaring and paying those. Where the law requires it, we may withhold taxes and issue the corresponding paperwork.
If a Scenic Premium payment is reversed (chargeback, fraud, refund) after we've credited your referral balance, we deduct the corresponding share from your next payout. Chargebacks and refunds on tour bookings are between you and the rider; Scenic's commission is adjusted as described above. Serious or repeated abuse ends participation in the referral programme and the Tour Finder.
Programme details, including percentages and payout thresholds, may change with reasonable notice before the Tour Finder opens. Once the store is live, changes to live economics will be notified with enough time for you to opt out of new tours if you want to.
